Presidential Inauguration 2013

Our country has inaugurated a president merely 57 times.  That may seem like a high number at first, but compared to our European and Asian counterparts, we are still in the beginning stages of this republic.

Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution requires the President to take an Oath of Office:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

The short oath encompasses a vast list of responsibilities, one that grows more complex with each President.

I wore my special Aviator sunglasses for Ashley and Laine...they have a pair too.

The Capitol building is breathtaking.

We did it!  After 4 hours in the cold, I was ready to be indoors.

“I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

I Timothy 2:1-4
