Hank's Oyster Bar, Capitol Hill

I met my friend, Emily, for dinner at Hank's on the Hill this week.  Hank's Oyster Bar recently opened a new branch and we were eager to try it out.

We were not disappointed!

The atmosphere was fun and light.  The bead board ceilings and nautical themed decor had me glancing out the window looking for the ocean instead of Pennsylvania Avenue!

Beautiful flowers with a pop of color!

I was won over by the fact that we were given a dish of goldfish crackers to eat while we perused the menu.

I immediately laser focused on one side item in particular:
buttermilk onion rings
I'll take those, please.
It's a good thing I don't know the recipe.

My entree selection surprised even me.  I chose fish tacos.  I never choose fish tacos.

BUT...these are not your ordinary fish tacos.  The shell was thick-crunchy-crispy and fried to perfection.
The fish was light and tasty and paired with pico de gallo, sour cream and fresh avocado.

I will definitely be back.  I'm glad the Hill has another fabulous eatery!
