Spending time on the water seems to cast a spell over me--it makes time slow down and reminds me to breathe deeply, look up and take in my surroundings.
Why is it hard to do that on land?
Spending time on Jordan's boat, Miss Mississippi, was a respite from the pressures of to-do lists and the little details that often seem to creep up and crowd out relaxation time.
In short, it was just what I needed.
